Recall Alert - Ford Philippines Recalls Select Ranger Models

If you own a 2012 and current Ford Ranger, then read this one especially that your unit may be affected. Ford Philippines will be conducting a recall which concerns faulty coolant hoses.




With the coolant hose that is faulty can lead to coolant loss and be a ground for eventual overheating. In several conditions, the engine coolant hose in the vehicle may rub against other under-bonnet components and continuous contact may cause in the wear of the coolant hose and may pose coolant hose. Driving continuously in that condition may lead to engine overheating and cause engine failure.

Ford had notified customers regarding this problem and dealers were informed of this issue. Customers are advised to bring their vehicle to check the coolant hose has any evidence of contact and if the hose was worn off, it will be replaced otherwise a protective wrapping will be installed to avoid further damage. Those who had received a letter are advised to contact their dealers, since select Vehicle Identification Numbers are affected. Any owner who had not received a letter but observed this issue must stop using their vehicle and contact their dealer. If the vehicle had been sold, the original owner must notify emailus@ford.com to update the records and notify the new owner.

Recall Alert - Honda Philippines Recalls City Due to Airbag

Honda Motor Company Ltd. had issued a recall in relation to the driver's side airbag due to the inflator. If you have a City built from 2003 until 2004, read this up.


With an investigation done by Honda Cars Philippines Inc., a possible problem was detected during the inflator's production process at the airbag supplier. In an event of a frontal accident, the inflator might deliver a higher pressure than normal.

In line with this, letters had been sent to affected customers and will be contacted by authorized dealers through phone. If the car had been sold, the original owner must notify the dealership at once to inform the new owner.

Repairs will start December 8, 2014 and affected owners are requested to call their nearest Honda dealership.

Recall Alert - Mitsubishi Philippines Recalls ASX, Lancer EX, and Two Other Models

If you're driving a Mitsubishi ASX, Lancer EX, Lancer Evolution, or Outlander, then read this out. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines is doing a vehicle recall for the four above mentioned models as part of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation's announcement.

The recall is for three issues that involves different models which include:


Issue # 1
Models: 2011 ASX
Reason For Recall: The brake booster's switch sleeve is suspected to be improperly installed that may cause the brake pedal to get stuck and the vehicle not able to start.
Number of Affected Models: 27 units

Issue # 2
Models: 2007-2009 Outlander
Reason For Recall: No thanks to the insufficient conduction of the brake lamp switch that may cause the brake lamp not to illuminate and not able to shift lever to move out of park (P) position.
Number of Affected Models: 558 units

Issue # 3
Models: 2008-2011 Lancer EX and Ralliart, 2008-2009 Outlander, 2011 ASX, 2008-2010 Lancer Evolution
Reason For Recall: The pulley and auto tensioner have the tendency to wear out due to an inappropriate material in the engine drive belt and may tend the drive belt to wear off. Depending on engine type, replacement may range from 1 to 1.5 hours.
Number of Affected Models: 2,459 units of Lancer EX and Ralliart, 603 units of Outlander, 600 units of ASX, 8 units of Lancer Evolution

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines had no reports of vehicle failure and/or incidents due to these issues nationwide. Replacement parts are expected to arrive this month while MMPC and its dealers will contact customers whose vehicles may be affected for proper scheduling of inspection and servicing.
