A 2006 redesign gave the Rio a more improved status than the model it replaced. Not much basic in package as before (it has power amenities and a 60/40 fold rear seat) which is a good thing. Initial models have a manual, with an automatic in late 2007.

An step up from its taxi-cab image predecessor, the Rio looks more solid and stately than before. Prices are competitive although there are some missing links (no airbags for 1.2 models) and some rough edges (cheap interior materials). An improvement but not by much.

The Bad: Some missing safety stuffs on base models.
